A Dreamgirl's Dreams Deferred

I must say I honestly feel bad for Beyonce. Not because she is beautiful, talented and wildy successful but because her shortcomings are becoming Jennifer Hudson's strengths. Beyonce has publicly said that her current dream is to be the first black woman to win a Grammy, Tony and an Oscar. So far she has one out of three and I dont know if she'll actually ever make her goal before the age of 30. Jennifer Hudson however comes out of nowhere and shows everyone that not only can she sing but she is on her way to becoming one of the foremost black performers of our time.

Being that I am on Team Hudson I was more than happy to see her on the cover of my favorite magazine. She looks happy and as if she's just laughing in the face of all her haters.
Beyonce however, just cant seem to escape the "righteous" sex symbol image that she and her team have created. Regardless of her talents everyone will call her beautiful first before they call her talented. All I'm saying is that her dream, though mostly realized, is a lot further from her now that she's on the cover of Sports Illustrated. She's settling for what people want to see. I think you could've held out for Vogue Beyonce. You and Jen coulda done it together....Right. At least you would still have your dignity.

Cant lie, she does look amazing in this photo shoot. A very natural photoshoped look.

Crazy In Love...

There is a difference between a fan and a stan. Miss Katrina you just crossed the line big time. You call Jay-z 300 times a day and admit to stalking him. No one can say anything about me anymore, especially in comparison to old girl. She's lost touch with reality big time. I just appreciate the man's swagger.

Here are some exciting tidbits:

"Dr. Phil mentions that Katrina can’t even spend time with her family, because she has to be home to check her e-mail in case Jay-Z responds. He shows Katrina a photo of Jay-Z and BeyoncĂ©. “Is that painful for you to look at?” he asks.

“I just think he’s better off with me, because to me, she’s just fake, and she’s not giving her all and all to him," Katrina says.

“There’s just something not right about her?" Dr. Phil questions, reminding her that she is writing numerous e-mails to man she's never met.

“Well, I feel if I did meet him, that he would want me,” she says. (Source)

Young Scrap

I am known to have not the best taste in music, but I must say that Young Scrap ( a rap artist on the up and up) has some hot unreleased tracks. I've been a fan of his for a while now and everyone should jump on the bandwagon.

His sound is like Dipset meets something new and better. Listen for yourself.

This is a spin on JT's my love: My Hoe -- Young Scrap

I love it. These hoes need an anthem too.

Minority Star Power at the Globes

I know the Globes were a few days ago but I didnt feel like posting until now.
My man looking very dapper with winner for best supporting actress: Jennifer Hudson.
Isaiah and his lovely wife.
The ladies of Grey's despite all the GLAAD drama.

Congrats to Eddie for winning and the whole crew of Dreamgirls took home best comedy/ musical.
All the acting lessons in the world couldnt help you B....do wat you do best: pose, smile, sing.

And the new favorite 'Ugly Betty' did pretty well on that night too. America Ferrera deserved that award.

Stomp the Yard

Toni dragged me to see 'Stomp the Yard' this weekend at Linden Projects, I mean Linden Theaters. It was a cool movie if your into predictable dance movies like that one with Omarion. But hands down the best part of the movie was Columbus Short with no shirt.
is that ur chick columbus? I hope not.
